It all starts with an idea.

It all begins with an idea. Over seven years ago, Lisa was an established massaged therapist and growing her brand new doula business. She was working in a therapeutic massage center and renting some space in her best friend’s chiropractic office. The two often chatted about how limited the resources were in Connecticut for expecting families and how it took a lot of effort and energy just to find services. Then they heard about a place in Massachusetts that offered everything a growing family could possibly need, all under one roof. Lisa decided to visit.

Two years later Lisa decided Connecticut could not wait any longer and it was time for a perinatal “hub” to be created. She began by renting the first floor of an old victorian building and bringing Dr. Liz on board for chiropractic and Patrice Jones for lactation support.

Just two years into this endeavor, Compass was bursting at the seams. The timing was right and the need was there, so Compass underwent a large expansion and renovation into the entire building. And here we are in 2021, having survived the pandemic (no small feat for a small business), nine incredible businesses working together, and thriving more than ever.
